INTRO:
Post-Rangam, which opened the doors of Tollywood market for Jiiva, the actor is leaving no stone unturned to sustain and thrive here. As part of it, he is yet again coming up to win the hearts of the Telugu public in Vachchadu Gelichadu, dubbed from Tamil Vanthaan Ventraan. A product from very talented film-maker R Kannan, whose directorial debut Jayamkondaan shot him to fame, Vachchadu Gelichadu is too expected to be a surprise packet.
PERFORMANCES:
Jiiva as a boxer gives a proper vent to his energy in action scenes. He blows your mind away with subtle expression and impressive dialogue delivery. In the love scenes especially, he presents himself in larger-than-life image, thus ensuring few more lady fans join his club. He is impeccable like that in Rangam and proves that he really has some big plans for staying in Telugu film industry, thus turning out to be tough competitor for his counterparts. I must admit, he has a promising future here, too. Tapsee looks like a cute Barbie doll. She is gorgeous like that in her earlier works and hot like never before. As an architect, she is outstanding in communicating her aspirations. She guarantees glamour quotient in the flick.
Nanda comes as one of the assets. His dialogues in base voice go with his personality and the role that he enacted. It’s pleasure to see him do justice to his character. Despite the Tamil nativity that his character is associated with, Santhanam makes certain we sport a little curve on lips during his presence. He is very enjoyable.
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:
Cinematography is splendid what with all the locales getting captured with their magnificence. The backwaters of Kerala are shown enticingly well. All the songs are picturized artistically. Every frame looks no less than a Ravi Varma’s canvas. Thaman’s music is remarkable. He proves to be a reliable and safe composer once again. Background score too is noteworthy. Dialogues are well-written. Storyline isn’t different, but the thick love story is presented with good treatment. Screenplay is good in bits and pieces, and offers some boring moments as well. Kannan’s direction is notable and editing is fine.

ANALYSIS:
The movie is a blend of a love story and the drama happening between two step brothers. The first hour is splashed with romance, handled and shot really well. The second hour turns crucial for the whole act and is the soul of the film. It’s quite predictable to us since it bears resemblance with Telugu works like Bumper Offer, Aadistha and Bluffmaster. Tapsee hardly has anything to do in the second-half and comes out as a negative point. The climax is pretty silly and draggy. It also lacks strong point and intensity to uphold the twist. The flick has too many highs and lows in its graph. Dearth of logic behind the whole episode is the major drawback. But then, the movie has been handled well in parts. In all, the first-half can be rated good and the second one as average.
VERDICT:
While the film is an unsurprising package, the first act has been dealt with well. The love story is enchanting and can be connected with easily. The second act draw similarities with a couple of earlier releases and hence is humdrum. It boasts of Jiiva all through and flaunts the glamorous Tapsee in the first hour. So the second act can be given be excused for its expectedness. Nevertheless, the flick is a good attempt to while away your free time since rarely do we get a chance to watch such decent scripts.
