Prabhu Deva will be wielding the directorial baton for the Hindi remake of Karthi s Tamil film Siruthai. His leading man will be Akshay Kumar. The film will be called Rowdy Rathode and will be produced by none other than award winning filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Reigning Queen bee, Sonakshi Sinha has been chosen as the heroine.
Siruthai is a remake of Vikramakudu starring Ravi Teja and Anushka. Both the films went on to become huge hits and this was mainly owing to the skill with which Karthi and Ravi Teja nailed the double role of a street smart rowdy and an honest cop. The makers feel that Akshay Kumar with his penchant for action and comedy will be the perfect choice for this role.
Prabhu Deva is confident that like Pokiri with Salman Khan this film will also be a smash hit.
