Chiranjeevi made the statement at the premiere of the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap. “I will return to acting with my 150th movie which will be directed by Puri Jagannath,” said Mr Chiranjeevi to thunderous applause.
The talk in the media circles is that Chiranjeevi might act in the films regularly, if not frequently, as he is uncertain about his political future.
“Like Dasari Narayana Rao, who still appears in films now and then, despite serving as union minister and still being an MP. May be Chiranjeevi can think of dropping out from the films only if he becomes the chief minister. But they it is still a far cry,” a media friend observed.
Already, ace Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma has offered to make a film with Chiranjeevi. “I am ready to direct Chiranjeevi in his 151st film, if he is willing to continue acting,” Varma said. So far, Varma had not made any film with Chiranjeevi and if he does, Chiranjeevi might not do films again because Varma is known to play havoc with actors with his crazy ideas.
