Kajal Agarwal who is awaiting the release of her first Bollywood film Singham, says that flux of actors from one regional industry to another is a heartening trend.
The actress, who has done nearly 21 movies in Tamil and Telugu, says, “I am happy that today a script is all that matters to an artist, and language is no more a hindrance. So many actresses from B-town are doing films in the South and vice versa. Even directors, music composers are all doing work in various industries. It’s what I feel will boost the film industry in a big way. In this manner we will graduate to becoming an Indian film industry, not just Bollywood, Tollywood, Sandalwaood etc. And once we become this I think our films can benefit immensely from the creativity that will come from different quarters.”
Speaking about her latest film Singham, Kajal says, “This is my first major Hindi film, because in my previous film Kyu Ho Gaya Na I was in the 9th grade and had very few scenes in the film. It was wonderful to work with Ajay Devgn and the whole team. He is just so focused and goes about his job so professionally! It really impressed me.”
